The Adventures of Lou

There was an adventure before….

But the real adventure began on Thursday, December 2, 2018 at 5:17 am when our son Lou was born. From those very first moments until today, Lou continues to fill us with pride each and every day.

Today, Lou shows much interest in planes and turtles.

He makes us laugh when he wholeheartedly exclaims '“broooooum brouuum” every time he sees (or hears) a car or a motorcycle.

He amazed us the first evening he began to eat his pasta all by himself with a fork.

Games, laughter, tears and a few falls too… Lou continues to fill our hearts with joy!

We try to enjoy every moment with him as time passes so quickly. Already he has grown and evolved so much. Every day is made of little things, and each one so precious. A new step, a new word, a new little grimace or an attitude.

We have wished and waited for this child so much and very often, that now we feel like we are living a daydream. What an incredible journey! What an incredible adventure!

But it doesn’t stop there.

There is also our Canadian family; our surrogate and her son whom we also love with all of our heart!! For Lou’s first birthday, they were even here with us in France to celebrate. Even across the Atlantic, not a week goes by without exchanging messages between us, often accompanied with a few photos as well.

When we began our journey we envisioned creating a strong and lasting relationship with our surrogate… today we are fulfilled in our vision! We are infinitely grateful for the gift she has given us.

And then there is Jennifer Allen and the JA Surrogacy team whom we will never stop thanking. Without whom this miracle would have been difficult to achieve. Simply put… THANK YOU! All of these people hold a very special place in our heart.

And now, our story continues to be written. Which is one ultimately to be continued…
