Meet Karim and Franck from Lyon, France. Franck works as an Employment Coach and Karim is an Osteopath and Teacher. They met in Turin, Italy, in an Egyptian museum, and have been together 2 years now. They realized very quickly that one of the many things they had in common was the desire to have a family.

Quick overview on a few things you need to know about becoming a surrogate in Canada: 

  • You must be a female of 21-49 years of age

  • Have delivered one or more child(ren) of your own

  • Have experienced healthy pregnancies and births

  • Lead a healthy lifestyle and be physically/mentally healthy in general

Surrogates in Canada are: 

  • Reimbursed all of their expenses. (average $20,000-30,000)

  • Can apply for 15 weeks of maternity leave (if eligible)

  • Have independent legal representation and a legal contract

  • Will travel to the Intended Parents clinic - all costs covered
